Birthday: Senator Yunus Akintunde, An Icon At 62 | Kunle Olatunji
I am extremely grateful to God and Nigerians Senator Dr. Yunus Akintunde.
In a low-key and quiet celebration of this year’s birthday, but amidst an outpouring of emotions and joyous moments, notable Nigerians have joined Senator Yunus Akintunde in the celebration of his 62nd birthday on March 6, 2024.
The Minister of Environment Malam Balarabe Abass Lawal, his colleagues at the Senate at the National Assembly, Party leadership both at the National and State levels were among notable individuals who sent in messages to felicitate with Dr Yunus Akintunde to congratulate him on the occasion of celebration of this unique day in his life.
Although he was on a national assignment far away in Kigali Rwanda with some Senators of the Federal Republic who organized a light moment of celebration and prayers for him amidst their tight schedule and engagements.
Malam Balarabe Abass Lawal, the Honourable Minister of Environment in his message extended his warmest birthday wishes to Senator Akintunde Yunus Abiodun, who is also the Chairman Senate Committee on Environment.
In his words, “Your dedication and approach in advancing environmental causes are truly commendable. Your leadership style, uncommon courage, the depth of intellectual capacity and commitment in your engagement as a distinguished Senator, and especially on the critical issues of environment is quite fascinating”.
“I join your several admirers and well wishers to pray that Almighty Allah grant you your heart desires, your special day be filled with joy, blessings, and continued success in all your endeavors” He concluded.
Also, Senator Sarafadeen Abiodun Alli, his colleague at the Senate representing Oyo South Senatorial District sent in messages of felicitations and recognition of the commitment to National issues and engagements.
In a separate message released to the Media through Akeem Abass, his Special Assistant on Media, Senator Alli prayed for long life and prosperity for him while charging him to sustain and be steadfast in his commitment to excellent leadership and those values that have endeared him to several of his admirers and followers.
Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, a notable Leader of All Progressive Congress APC in a personal message when he placed a call through to felicitate with the Distinguished Senator during the early morning of his birthday extolled his leadership qualities while he also prayed for more years of divine benevolence and grace in his future endeavors and in years ahead.
Overwhelmed with joy and gratitude to the Almighty God for his benevolence and grace, Senator Yunus Akintunde thanked the Honourable Minister of Environment, the leadership of the Senate and House of Representatives, his colleagues at the Senate, and the Oyo State Caucus at the National Assembly, several individuals too numerous to mention, his constituents and good people of Oyo Central Senatorial District, citizens of Oyo State, Nigerians across the Nation, family members, friends and associates, media professionals who all made his birthday quite memorable despite his decision to avoid any form of glamorous celebrations, being mindful of the economic challenges facing the nation amidst several action plans by the leadership of the current administration to reposition the economy of the Nation.
Amidst pleasantries, accolades and appreciation of his style in leadership, commitment to people and ability to oblige and keep promises are virtues that have endeared him to several of his followers and admirers. He is often being refered to as Senator “Talk and Do” with a nack for integrity and honesty without bias or prejudice.
He assured Nigerians that through collective and unwavering commitment and determination to reposition the economy of Nigeria, in a few more months, the entire nation shall soon be enjoying the benefits of efforts and endurance, trust and confidence in the present leadership of the country.
He confided that rather than throwing parties and elaborate celebrations, he and his family, friends and associates decided to mark his birthday this year with prayers and admonitions while also assuring the people of his steadfastness and commitment to provide quality leadership and representation at all times.
