‘Jide Adeyemi is 45 today. He is quite affable, silent yet a strong man.

He made relationships so easy and endearing.

We met first on the political turf. But he obviously wanted more. He wanted a friendship that transcends material gains and benefits. He believes in raising platforms for others, sometimes at personal discomfort.

He is humane, good-natured and highly compassionate. He recently organized a free eye screening, treatment and surgery program that spanned across 24 wards in Ibadan city.

He has offered scholarships to several indigent and disadvantaged students. His company, ‘Big and Bold African’, has a huge corporate social responsibility rating.

Jide’s biggest investments are those around him. He believes great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us everyday. He is always looking out for it. Service for him is reaping.

Today, when his kind would have organized an elitist celebration and dine only with the finest amongst us. Jide took a different route. He will be with the widows whom he has promised cash support to start a business and/or grow an existing one. It is the height of solicitude and fellow feeling. His biggest motivation is the wish to see others free from suffering. If you don’t have a friend like Jide, endeavor to get one. There is no such thing as tough as love. He is the simplest version of it.
