Breaking: Afenifere Congratulates Oyo ALGON, Urges Makinde to Tow Path of Honour.
“Afenifere Egbe Ilosiwaju Yoruba” happily congratulates all the elected Local Government Officials of Oyo State on the recent restoration of their mandates earlier snatched by the Executive Governor of Oyo State HE Engr Seyi Makinde in order to pave ways for the installation of his stooges across the length and breadth of the state.
In a press statement issued by the National Secretary of “Afenifere Egbe Ilosiwaju Yoruba”, a Pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, and made available to newsmen in Ibadan, Bayo Aina says; “We are blissful that the Governor’s attempt at taking Oyo back to the days of brazen impunity where less than half of the Assembly Members would claim success at impeachment of a Governor contrary to the provisions of our laws has not only been checked mated by our courts but the law enforcement agencies have also clearly taken side with the rule of law in order to uproot this illegality.
We appeal to HE Engr Seyi Makinde Executive Governor of Oyo State to cooperate with Nigeria in her march towards uprooting the culture of impunity and lawlessness which characterized the first sixteen years of our democracy, and embrace the politics of tolerance which is the bedrock of democracy.
We commend the elected local government officials for peacefully pursuing the restoration of their illegally withdrawn mandate through the legitimate means and law courts.
The group also appeals to Mr Governor to exercise patience and restraints while towing path of honour by allowing the elected officials to run their tenures in peace via the spirit of harmonious partisanship and one Oyo State as giant steps towards attaining perfection of democratization, Aina Concludes.
