Breaking: CCII Elects Yemisi Adeaga As New President.
Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes(CCII) has elected Prince Oluyemisi Adetayo Adeaga as the new president of the council.
Prince Adeaga defeated his main rival, Chief Waheed Ekun in a keenly contested election.
Adeaga pulled 51 out of the 99 votes cast while Ekun had 31 votes.
Prince Yemisi Adeaga will be taking over from Prince Yemi Soladoye.
During electioneering period, Prince Adeaga has promised maximising employment quota from government institutions in Ibadan land and other dividends for the indigenes of the largest city in Africa, Ibadan.
Adeaga has earlier reiterated that,” By the grace of the Almighty, when I resume office as the President-General, PG after Friday April 2 elections, my team and I will work together with Federal Character Commission towards ensuring that the golden rule that guide employment of the indigenes is adhered to, especially, the junior and intermediate officers.
The Corporate Social Responsibility of Companies operating in the land would also be explored.
“A relevant committee would also constantly link up with Ibadan indigenes who work in these agencies to monitor their recruitment exercises. This is to enable our proactiveness towards taking the right steps at the right time. I will also ensure that we safely fraternise with the CEO’s of private organizations with employment capabilities, to enable us promote their confidence in CCII and secure their interests in Ibadanland”, he maintained.
