Breaking: Fatai Adesokan “Sai Rahma” Unveils Agenda to Becomes Oyo APC Publicity Secretary, Signs Pacts With Members.

Notable On Air Public Affairs Analyst and a Stalwart of the All Progressives Congress(APC), from Ajegunle Area of Ward 2, Saki West Local Government, in Okeogun Region of Oyo State, Hon. Azeez Fatai Adesokan popularly known as “Sai Rahma” has expressed his intention to become the next party’s publicity secretary in the APC forthcoming state congress.

In his campaign statement, Adesokan promised an exemplary public image of the party and good interpersonal relationship within the party, and as well as with the members of the public.

The full campaign statement reads;

My Dear Oyo State APC Party Compatriots, Party Leaders, Party Chieftains, Critical Stakeholders and Others.

My name is ‘Mr AZEEZ FATAI ADESOKAN’ also known as ‘ Sai Rahma’ , an APC member from Ajegunle Area of Ward 2, Saki West Local Government, in Okeogun Region of Oyo State.

I am married and blessed with children.

Sirs/mas, I will start here with the quote of Bertolt Brecht who said:-

‘The worst illiterate is the political illiterate. He hears nothing, sees nothing, takes no part in political life. He doesn’t seem to know that the cost of living, the price of beans, of flour, of house rent, of medicines, all depend on political decisions.
He even prides himself on his political ignorance, sticks out his chest and says he hates politics. He doesn’t know, the imbecile, that from his political non-participation comes the prostitute, the abandoned child, the robber and, worst of all, corrupt officials, the lackeys of exploitative multinational corporations’.

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent and the most Merciful, as only He(God) Almighty crowns whoever for whatever and dethrones. I seek him to beseech more blessings to noble Prophet Muhammad Bin Abdullah , S.A.W, his household, Companions, till day of reckoning.

After due consultation with my family, close associates, political associates , genuine party members , chieftains of our party, leaders of our party, and critical stakeholders of our party.

I have resolved to offer myself to aspire to become ‘OYO STATE APC PUBLICITY SECRETARY’ in the forthcoming state congress of our great party, APC.

In the last two years that we have lost election to the incumbent party in government, I have tried within my limited capacity to identify more with the party at a period it was suicidal, doing so.

My vision and mission are to re-enact articulacy, constructive policy engagement, vibrancy in all Oyo State 351 wards and 33 LG publicity Secretaries offices.

My mantra is anchored on togetherness. With sense of unity of purpose, we would collectively change the political narrative of our party ahead of 2023 poll.

As a party man, I am not desperate about my aspiration, I am more pre- occupied with the political bigger picture and I believe many of us should play down artificial tendencies or personal political aspirations of individuals and promote party platform for the benefit of all and sundry.

It seems that when opposition does its job, the government panic and resort to a propaganda of lies. It is part of the lies they have told us about the mismanagement of our state Security with return of high rate of criminal activities, hooliganism, bringandages, robbery among others, in Oyo State.

The first story was that those behind it were within the opposition party. When we, the opposition pushed them to identify those people they have turned around to say it is national problem without telling us they collect monthly security votes from Federal Government(FG) for the purpose of complementing the security of the state.

Some people still see politics as something too bad. Whether we like it or not, history has shown that the elite of any society, especially its professional cadre, and the very best of them decide the direction of the nation when they come to a consensus about the pathway for their nation, even if they belong to different political parties.

I believe it’s too elementary to attempt any formal definition of democracy.

It will serve our purposes to say that, democracy is a participatory governance in the sense that, we all have a day, whether we vote or not.

It is also useful to remind ourselves that it is largely by representation; In other words, those who are old enough to vote and those who are not, are represented by people who are elected to speak, think, or act for us.

This part is very important because we all cannot be in government, especially Executive and Legislative Arms, so, we must elect or, otherwise or, choose people to go there on our behalf.

The problem is compounded by size.

Can you imagine what a National Assembly Abuja, in Senate (red chamber) or House of Representatives (green chamber), where all estimated over 200 million of us (Nigerians) can sit will look like?

From this point we can see the inherent challenges that lie in a process of collective decision making.

In order for this to happen, the vehicle of politics, the political parties must be developed as first class institutions.

The first thing to seek is the ‘idea’ behind governance (this is often contained in the program of a political party).

This is very important because the extremes of left and right ideologies have now converged around the centre.

If China and Russia are democratizing, no matter how imperfectly, it is clear that the communist or socialist ideologies of economic exchange have proven to become unsustainable.

Conversely, capitalism in its purest sense has also had to reinvent itself to remain viable. Therefore it moved from cash to credit and credit almost killed it.

The question of ideology is important because it lies at the heart of choice making for the people who participate in election to choose their representatives. At all times, the welfare of the people is the central theme for the canvassing of votes. It is the ideology, often on economic outlook, sometimes on social outlook that helps to crystallize the difference between the political party machines.

Before concluding on party ideology (because it can be the subject of a full lecture itself) let me say that while some people still delude themselves that there is no difference between our political parties, especially the ruling party in Oyo State and we, the main opposition, APC, the differences are emerging daily for those who are discerning enough to notice.

If on major policy issues, security, education, infrastructure, agriculture, corruption, the main opposition has disagreed with the party in government and has criticized its choices of projects with populist agenda that is counter-productive. I wonder what else the party needs to do to prove that there is a difference.

State has peculiarities and it has evidently shown. Incumbent party in government in Oyo State does not have in-depth concept of governance. They are with poor choice of infrastructure that, could be better managed by PPP arrangements.

Fiscal policy of government of PDP and His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde has been a guess-approach.

It is noteworthy to appreciate you all , APC members, especially, some of us that are been selfless in defending the party even without any position or personal benefits both online media and conventional media platforms, too numerous to mention, I salute you all.

Also, critical stakeholders of our party, both in diaspora and Nigeria that have been spending personal resources to promote the party, I salute you all.

Thanking you all as I seek your supports.

Your son,

AZEEZ FATAI ADESOKAN(Sai Rahma),
APC Member,
Ajegunle Area,
Ward 2,
Saki West Local Government,
Okeogun Region,
Oyo State, Nigeria.”
