Capacity Building: MHR, Hon Bunvic Trains Constituents, Gives Supports(PHOTOS).

In another massive give back to his constituency, a Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress(APC), in Oyo State, Hon. Segun Odebunmi popularly known as “Bunvic” has facilitated two separate trainings,”‘Capacity Building in Censorship and Classification for the selected university students’ and ‘Media Literacy and Capacity Building for the selected youths and women in Understanding Film Classification’ “, through National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) as parts of his efforts to empower youths and women.

The Chairman House Committee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Values, Hon Odebunmi representing Ogo-Oluwa/ Surulere federal constituency, who was represented by his Special Adviser, Hon. Al-Maruff Ajibolu, stated that the aim of the empowerment was to ensure the youth and women in his constituency are self independent in all facets of life.”The main aim of this capacity building training is to make our youth self independent and for them to be equipped with knowledge that can be used to assist the upcoming generation.

Al-Maruf recalled that Hon. Odebunmi has facilitated trainings on farming, film production among others for youth, and also has ensured women empowerments in trading.

Bunvic promised that he will not relent until youths are truly self independent through various trainings and capacity building programs, that will still take place, very soon in his constituency.

In his lecture titled, “Capacity Building in Censorship and Classification, NFVCB Executive Director(ED)/Chief Executive Officer(CEO), Mr Adedayo Thomas maintained that the training is an academic and knowledge-based program under communication course that equips the students on “Plan, Direct, and Coordinate” censorship policies and programs, or to produce collateral materials, such as posters, contents, coupons and others.

The Oyo state Governor of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria – TAMPAN, Mrs Rose Odika commended Hon Odebunmi for partnering with NFVCB, to ensure success of the programme.” Let me advise all the trainees. You need to abide by the professional ethics guiding the media practice when carrying out your functions”, she said.

One of the guest speakers at the event, Mrs Binta Ayo Magaji while delivering her lecture on Media Literacy and Capacity Building maintained that training like this offers opportunities for younger generations, to understand the rudiments of theatre industry as well as helping society to grow better.

While showing their appreciations, some of the participants expressed their satisfaction on the training received and commended Hon Segun Odebunmi for always being there for his constituents.
