The Former Secretary to the State Government, in Oyo-State, in a statement he personally signed on Sunday urged all Nigerians to emulate the self sacrifice of Lord Jesus Christ who laid down his life for the people.

The former Chairman of Odua Investment Conglomerates advised Nigerians to use the birth of Jesus Christ to forgive those who had sin against them and embrace act of giving to the less privileged in the society.

Barr Alli further explained that emulating Jesus Christ involved avoiding things that could hinder peace in their immediate communities, state and Nigeria and promoting selfless services to brothers and sisters.

According to Barr Alli,”The peaceful coexistence of Christians and Muslims in Oyo state is as a result of the religious tolerance and understanding of our imperfection as humans which is commendable.”

The statement reads;”I want to use this opportunity to congratulate our Christian brothers and sisters on this year’s celebration of Christmas. As we are celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, let us bear in mind that there is need for moderation in everything we do.

He further raised hope for Nigerians saying; “I am confident that better days are coming for Nigerians, the people of Oyo state, especially my people in Oyo South senatorial district. As goverment at all levels are trying to make life meaningful for us, let us also use the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ to pray fervently for return of peace to Nigeria.

“As we are sharing rice and chicken in our neighbourhood, let us also remember to share with the less privileged who cannot afford basic things in our community, those in hospital and the orphans. Let us celebrate with them because they need our care. On my part, I have been doing it and I will continue to emulate our Lord Jesus Christ in his act of giving and forgiven,” the statement concluded.
