Kolade, Wife Pay Tribute to Late Olubadan.
Former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Honourable ‘Bimbo Kolade and his Wife, Mrs Sandra Kolade have commiserated with the Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State Traditional Council, Olubaban in Council , the immediate family of Oba Saliu Adetunji and all the indigenes and residents of Ibadan land over the demise of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogunguniso-I, the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Hon. Kolade’s condolence message goes thus,”I received with a heavy heart, the news of the passage of the Olubadan of Ibadan Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Soliu Akanmu Adetunji Aje Ogungunniso 1.
This is such a great loss to the people of Ibadan, Oyo State and the nation.
In a world bereft of peace in its true meaning, some individuals still standout as epitomes and personification of peace. Kabiesi, listening to you speak, even in extremely tense moments was always like water over dusty grounds – you brought calm and you always exuded peace.
When you would have led an army of destroyers, you choose the more difficult path of sowing and watering seeds of peace in place of discord; just because you knew the fruits of those trees would benefit all and sundry.
Without a doubt, a vacuum has been created. However, the works which you left with us are consoling. You made us richer in knowledge and prouder in our traditional heritage… for all these and more, your memory and impact shall linger.
I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Oyo State, particularly the people of Ibadan, the larger community; family and friends of the departed Kabiesi over this irreparable loss.
It is my prayer that the Lord Almighty will comfort the entire family and grant the departed eternal rest.
