Coronation Anniversary: Oba Adeyemi’s Reign Has Brought Tremendous Development – Sen Akanbi Lauds Alaafin.
Adesoji Akanbi, vice-chairman of South West Agenda, SWAGA, a group working for the realization of the presidential ambition of Bola Tinubu, has congratulated His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, on the occasion of his 51st anniversary as Alaafin of Oyo.
The former senator and Okanlomo of Ibadan, in his congratulatory message, said Oba Adeyemi, in 51 years, has brought tremendous development not only to Oyo but to neighboring towns within the an ancient city.
Akanbi, who recalled how the monarch was fond of his late dad, Alhaji Olalere Akanbi, who was Babasale of Musulumi of Ibadanland, said Oyo and Oyo State are lucky to have Oba Adeyemi around since 1971.
”It pleases me to wish Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, Alaafin of Oyo, as he clocks 51 years on the Alafinate throne. Baba came prepared for the throne. His 51 years on the throne have brought tremendous development to the town. Even if you are not from Oyo, you will be proud to have him. And this is a courageous Oba who has never shied away from intervening whenever any knotty issues that concerns nation-building is thrown up.
