Coronavirus : Bimbo Adekanmbi Donates One Million To UCH, Empathises With Masses

former Deputy Chief of Staff(DCOS) and Oyo State Commissioner for Finance and Budget during the tenure of Gov. Abiola Ajimobi, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi has donated the sum of One Million Naira to University College Hospital(UCH)

in response to the appeal by the teaching hospital on March 26, 2020 for voluntary donations from well meaning Nigerians and groups to support the premier Health Institution in its fight against COVID-19 Pandemic disease popularly known as Coronavirus .

Presenting the Cheque on Wednesday April 1, 2020, Adekanmbi appreciated the good work of UCH at the front lines of curtailing the deadly COVID-19 .

Africano Trumpeters recalled that UCH made the appeal for support in order to scale up its initial 4-bed isolation unit to an 18-bed facility and to also purchase critically needed and multiple numbers of life saving equipments and health consumables.

The financial donation by Adekanmbi to the health institution, UCH is on the back of other timely responses that he had rolled out to the general public as steps to contribute to the slowing down of the spread of Coronavirus in Oyo State. He had earlier distributed hand sanitizers to scores of Market people in Ibadan and in Oyo township, alongside a sensitization campaigns to Traders in a bid to curb the spread of the Coronavirus. Adekanmbi has also distributed several food items as relief materials to indigenes and residents across the 33 local government areas of Oyo state.

Adekanmbi empathised with good people of Oyo State and Nigeria at large and he as well urged well to do individuals, groups and corporate organisations in the state to respond to the appeal by the UCH Management and join them and governments at all strata in the fight against the deadly disease as only joint efforts that can curb the spread of the pandemic.
