Member, House of Representatives(MHR) Hopeful from ATISBO, Saki East and Saki West Federal Constituency, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC), come 2023, Honourable Jacob ‘Funmi Ogunmola has, yesterday, graced “Igunnu Festival” in Basi town of ATISBO Local Government Area of Oyo-State.

The Detribalized Nigerian, Ogunmola felicitated with Royal Father of the town, His Majesty, Oba Sunday Babatunde Azeez over the Igunnu festival and described the event as historical one.

Ogunmola while quoting Ruth Benedict stated that,”The crucial differences which distinguish human societies and human beings are not biological. They are cultural”. He lauded Oba Babatunde for his frantic efforts on cultural renaissance and prayed that more power to his elbow.

Hon. Ogunmola corroborated his speech with positions of Robert Alan and Wendell Pierce that,”Cultural differences should not separate us from each other, but rather cultural diversity brings a collective strength that can benefit all of humanity — The role of culture is that it’s the form through which we as a society reflect on who we are, where we’ve been, where we hope to be.

Ogunmola prayed that may Basi continue to enjoy peace and prosperity.

While commenting, Oba Babatunde lauded Hon. Ogunmola and stated that despite being a Christian devout, he has never discriminated against people based on their places of birth or beliefs.”Indeed, Hon. Ogunmola is a blessing, not only to Oke-Ogun people but to the entire humanity. As a detribalized Nigerian, you’ve never discriminated against anybody based on his or her creed or colour. Thank you for all you do on cultural revival and advancement of Oke-Ogun and humanity, in general.

This Newspaper, Africano Trumpeters recalled that Hon. Ogunmola always supports religious activities, both that of Christian and Muslim events, aids culture and traditions, comes to the aid of women, youth and elders.
