“DECLUTTER FOR RESOURCEFULNESS”
In simple terms, to declutter is to free up a clumsy space, tidy up, organize and prioritize. It is no longer news that the journey of the New Year has begun. We must have made an evaluation of how well we used the days in the year 2021. That evaluation is meant to serve as a better foundation for the New Year, in order for us to make the most of the year 2022.

Man is a complex being who has both internal and external spaces. Man’s internal space include his mind, conscience, emotions and thoughts while his external space are his natural habitat, the living things (animals and man) and non-living things in it. As a result of man’s interactions with his external space, man’s internal space as well as his external space can become jam packed (clumsy or cluttered). This is because man’s external space is a channel into his internal space. They determine what fills and happens in man’s internal space.

Resourcefulness being man’s ability to find quick solutions to difficulties in a creative and clever way; and make decisions, cannot be fully achieved if man’s external and internal spaces are cluttered. In man’s external space, man needs to declutter his house, calendar and contacts whereas in man’s internal space, man needs to declutter his mind and thoughts. A cluttered space (both internal and external) will limit man’s resourcefulness.

It is time to look into your closet and give out the things you do not need; thrash the ones that cannot be used by someone else and keep a tidy and healthy house this year. Stop impulse buying and spending. What of your calendar? Prioritize the events marked on your calendar and cancel those that will hinder your full capacity resourcefulness. Those WhatsApp and Facebook groups you belong to, are you really resourceful on them? Why then do you still remain passive there? It is either you become an active member henceforth and make your voice heard or exit them.

Look through the media and files on your phone and laptop, do you really need some of them? Declutter. Look through your contact list (I did that few days ago), are there still phone numbers you keep stored; numbers of those who have continually affected your resourcefulness and internal space, why are their numbers still there? Let your mind be free of every hurt and thought that are affecting your resourcefulness. You need to do better this year, make your presence felt and your voice heard. Concentrate your energies into being resourceful.

HAPPY NEW YEAR.”
