Defence Minister, Badaru Bags ‘Prestigious Award’ At Nigerian Navy’s Ceremonial Sunset, 2023 Awards Night

The Honourable Minister of Defence, Alhaji Muhammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, has been honoured with the Award of Excellence at the Nigerian Navy’s highly anticipated ceremonial sunset and awards night held in the capital city.

The annual event, organised by the Nigerian Navy, serves as a platform to showcase milestones achieved in national defence and security, recognising outstanding contributions by organisations and individuals. 

Badaru’s acknowledgment is a testament to his exceptional dedication and unwavering commitment to the nation’s defence.

Badaru’s steadfastness in the face of challenges and relentless efforts have not only highlighted his individual excellence but have also significantly contributed to bolstering national security. The guest of honour for the event was Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume. He praised the Nigerian Navy for its unwavering commitment to securing the maritime domain.

Akume expressed anticipation for continued progress in the future, acknowledging the Navy’s pivotal role in increasing crude oil exploration to 1.5 million barrels daily as of November.

The event, attended by high-profile dignitaries and military officials, highlighted the critical role played by individuals like Alhaji Badaru in shaping the nation’s security architecture.
