Democracy Day: Ex-ALGON Boss, Prince Aleshinloye Lists Basic Tenets of Purposes, Greets Nigerians
DEMOCRACY DAY: UNITY IN DIVERSITY, PEACE AND PROGRESS, LEADERSHIP WITH INTEGRITY ARE BASIC TENETS OF GOOD GOVERNANCE AND PURPOSEFUL DEVELOPMENT – EX-ALGON CHAIRMAN, ALESHINLOYE.
The immediate past ALGON chairman in Oyo State, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye MDII, has felicitated with Nigerians and urged the citizens to work towards a harmonious and inclusive society.
In a statement released through his media office, Prince Aleshinloye also called on Nigerians to reflect on the significance of the day in our nation’s political history.
“As we commemorate Democracy Day, let us also reflect on the significance of this day in our nation’s political history. It marks the resilience and determination of the Nigerian people in their pursuit of democratic governance,” he said.
“Today is the day when we remember the years before and look at the possibilities before us in order to strive for an even better future. We should remember not to leave the faith of our country in the hands of our leaders alone, as it is the responsibility of everyone to make it greater. Have faith in Nigeria!”, he charged.
“Leaders should always strive to ensure economic prosperity and a conducive, secured environment for people to unleash their potentials, especially at the grassroots level for opportunities because many of these ethnic and religious problems are products of economic tensions. What is expected is that all hands should be on deck to build a Nigeria of our collective dream where freedom, peace, and unity abound, and where the labour of our heroes past shall never be in vain.
“Democracy, unity in diversity, peace and progress, and leadership with integrity are basic tenets of good governance and purposeful development. This is how best to remember and honour June 12 as a watershed in the political history of Nigeria.
“It is also important that Nigerians leverage the Democracy Day event to pray for the leadership of the nation at the moment and the leadership at the state levels, and also pray that the lofty desire of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to rid Nigeria of the economic challenges should produce the needed result. May the good Lord bless Oyo people in particular and Nigerians in general on this momentous period of Democracy Day celebration.” Aleshinloye concluded
