Dr Adebayo Adams Celebrates Sen Ajimobi’s Posthumous Birthday, Remembers ‘Architect of Modern Oyo-State ‘
On this day, the memory of Senator Ishaq Abiola Adeyemi Ajimobi, fondly known as “The Architect of Modern Oyo,” is kept alive as the state gathered to celebrate His Excellency’s 74th posthumous birthday. The event, held at the University of Ibadan (UI), united friends, family, and admirers in a glowing tribute to the former governor’s life and legacy.
Dr. Adams Adebayo Yusuf, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and agrotech expert from Ibadan Northwest Local Government Area, paid an emotionally moving homage that echoed the sentiments of many.
As a student of the “Ajimobi school of thought,” Dr. Adebayo praised Ajimobi’s values, ideals, and political acumen, highlighting him as a “philosopher-king of all times”. “I’m proud to be associated with Your Excellency’s values, ideals, and principles,” Yusuf declared.
“Your political ideology and governmental journal will forever be referenced as the foundation for modern Oyo State. Sir, you are the real architect of the state.”
Adebayo’s words captured the essence of Ajimobi’s legacy. During his two terms as governor, from 2011 to 2019, ” His Excellency implemented significant reforms that modernised infrastructure, boosted the economy, and improved security. His dedication to development and his “Mr. Security” moniker endeared him to the people of Oyo.
The celebration went beyond mere praise. Prayers were offered for the repose of Ajimobi’s soul and for the continued strength of his family, especially his wife, Chief (Dr.) Florence Ajimobi. Her unwavering support for the patriarch and her own contributions to the state were acknowledged and appreciated.
“May Almighty God uphold the family you left behind, and may He keep strengthening our valued mother, mentor, and matriarch, Chief (Dr.) Florence Ajimobi,” Yusuf prayed.
