…. urges Christians to pray for Nigeria.

As Christians all over the world celebrate Easter, Oyo State Algon Chairman, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, has said the celebration can only be completed when the people live righteous life.

In a statement released by the chairman, he stated that Easter will be beneficial when there is true repentance.

“We should remember what this season represents, we are all sinners and with the realisation that our sins have been taken away, let us give our life totally to God, be obedient to God’s commandments and His teaching,” Aleshinloye stated .

He emphasised, “a wonderful Easter celebration can only be when you have given your life to God, by His (Jesus Christ) rising, we have all been lifted to the glory of God.”

He said that with the power of Christ’s resurrection crystalised in Easter, the period was an opportunity for Christians to seek the face of God in prayers to heal Nigeria and the world of the ravaging COVID-19 popularly known as corona virus.

He stressed further that the period was also a time for people to show love to one another, especially at the backdrop of the prevailing hardship occasioned by coronavirus and the attendant stay-at-home order.

Aleshinloye implored the people most especially , at the grassroots level not to forget to adhere strictly to all the instructions given to them by the government and relevant agencies in curbing the spread of this virus by keeping safe, social distancing , washing our hands and using alcohol-based sanitizer, keeping a good personal hygiene and most especially staying at home.

“Let us remain peaceful, show love, tolerate one another and make sacrifice most especially during this period of global COVID-19 pandemic. That way, we can uphold and advance the legacy of Jesus Christ in our state and nation at large”, Aleshinloye reiterated .
