EASTER: Ex Oyo ALGON Boss, Aleshinloye Greets Christians, Urges Faithful to Seek Peace, Promote Unity

EASTER CELEBRATION: Ex Oyo ALGON Boss, Aleshinloye Greets Christians, Urges Faithful to Seek Peace, Promote Unity.

As Christians all over the world celebrate Easter, the immediate Past Algon Chairman in Oyo state, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye MDII has said the celebration can only be complete when the people live righteous life, imbibe the spirit of tolerance, peaceful co-existence and sacrifice for one another, which Jesus Christ demonstrated throughout his period on earth.

In his Easter goodwill message through his media office, Prince Aleshinloye  urged Christians to use the opportunity of the celebration to rededicate themselves to the values of love, peace, sacrifice and tolerance as embodied in the death of the Saviour, Jesus Christ.

According to the ex Algon Chairman,“As we celebrate Easter, let us reflect on the significance of the season, which is sacrifice, to come together as a people.”

“We must therefore see this period as a time that presents us the viable opportunity to think about how we can help to steer our nation back on the road to peace, stability and prosperity, by working in the spirit of togetherness because no nation can make any meaningful progress in an atmosphere riddled with pockets of violence and killings,” Aleshinloye said.

He called on Christians and Nigerians of all walks of life to use the occasion of this Easter celebration to reflect on its significance in the life of the nation.

He noted that it would amount to hollow ritual if the import of the celebration is not underscored by the appreciation of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ with its central theme on sacrifice.

While wishing the country peace, joy, the warmth of friendship and the steady hand of love, the most distinguished Ibadan indigene enjoined Nigerians to eschew hate and bigotry, which was what Christ espoused before His supreme sacrifice on the cross.
