Easter : Happy Celebrations – Adelabu Felicitates With Christians
Governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state during the last year General Election, Chief Adebayo Adelabu has felicitated with Christians across the state and world at large on the occasion of this year’s Easter celebration and also urged them to remain steadfast even in the face of ravaging Coronavirus that stopped them from marking the event in its usual way, this is contained in a press release issued by one of Chief Adelabu’s Aides, Mr Femi Awogboro .
The former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria described Easter as a significant event in Christendom which is celebrated annually to mark the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
“Though, we are marking this year’s Easter in the face of a deadly pandemic that is ravaging the whole world, we must retain our hope in Christ that this period like every other in the past shall pass”, Adelabu stated .
also urged all Christians to imbibe the teaching of Christ and love their neighbours as themselves. “This is a period to show love, forgiveness, compassion and assist one another, it is by doing so that the society can fare better”, He said .
Chief Adebayo Adelabu also commended the efforts of the federal government, private organisations and public spirited individuals for putting in place various palliative measures to cushion the effects of sit-at-home order. He urged the Christians across the state to continue to pray for our leaders and those in the positions of authority for the wisdom and energy to handle this pandemic and protect the citizens of the state.
The business mogul further encouraged residents of Oyo state to maintain personal hygiene, observe social distancing and follow all preventive guidelines that will help in curbing the spread of the deadly virus.
