In a show of solidarity and statesmanship, Honourable Tawfiq Tayo Akinwale, the 2023 governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Oyo State, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Nigerian helmsman assumes the “prestigious” position of Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States(ECOWAS).
Hon. Akinwale expressed confidence in the President’s ability to excel in this new role and contribute significantly to the development and stability of the West African region.
“The announcement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s appointment as the Chairman of ECOWAS came as a moment of great pride and honor for Nigeria”, he said.
Recognizing the significance of this position, Akinwale applauded the President’s remarkable achievement and he pledged his full support, in a press statement issued yesterday, in Ibadan, through his Press Secretary, Samuel Abodunrin
In the statement, Akinwale acknowledged President Tinubu’s leadership qualities, visionary approach, and commitment to the well-being of Nigeria and the entire West African region. He highlighted his track record of effective governance and his dedication to fostering regional cooperation and integration.
Akinwale also expressed his belief that President Tinubu possesses the necessary qualities to steer ECOWAS towards greater achievements during his tenure.
