Edil Kabir: Senator Buhari Urges Muslims to Emulate Prophet Ibrahim’s Obedience to Allah
As Muslims across the world celebrate Edil Kabir 2024, people of Oyo North Senatorial District have been admonished to emulate the father of faith, Prophet Ibrahim, in obedience to their Creator.
The Senator representing the good people of Oyo North Senatorial District, Dr. Buhari Abdulfatai, gave this admonition in a press release issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Alhaji Semiu Azeez, in the early hours of today.
According to the Lawmaker while tracing the history of Edil Kabir, the ceremony came into existence to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his only son as an act of obedience to Allah’s command.
He said, “In the Islamic tradition, just as Ibrahim was about to carry out the sacrifice, Allah intervened and provided a ram to be sacrificed instead.
Senator Buhari said after every agony, there comes joy from Allah, and so he enjoined Muslims all over the world to abide by every commandment of God so that they can also experience joy at the end of every trial.
“Allah that created us hates shedding of human blood, and that was why he replaced Ismail with a ram for Ibrahim to use as sacrifice, and so I advised every Muslim to refrain from acts of shedding blood of their fellow human beings,” Senator Buhari stated.
The Legislator charged Muslims to utilise the joyous moment of Edil Kabir to pray for Nigeria led by President Bola Tinubu so that the country can be a home of our dream where peace, unity, equity, and justice reign.
While admitting that the economy is presently hard, especially to the downtrodden masses, Senator Buhari advised people in the district to celebrate the 2024 Edil Kabir moderately.
He added,”I call on my constituents to share the love, share the joy, and ensure that they make their neighbours happy as they are in this season, as I pray that God will ease all their affairs first as a people and as a nation.
Senator Buhari wished every Muslim in Oyo North, Oyo State, and Nigeria as a whole many happy returns of the Edil Kabir Celebration.
