Edo 2024: Senator Yunus Akintunde Congratulates Governor-elect Monday Okpebholo
Senator Yunus Akintunde has sent warm congratulations to Senator Monday Okpebholo, who was declared the winner during the gubernatorial election, held last Saturday in Edo State.
In a release made available to the media by Kunle Olatunji, the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Dr. Yunus Akintunde, the Oyo Central Senator further emphasised the victory at the polls as a call to more dedication to humanity and especially to the people of Edo State and the nation.
“On behalf of my family and constituents at Oyo Central Senatorial District, I congratulate Senator Monday Okpebholo, my colleague at the Senate in the National Assembly, for having been declared the winner of the just concluded Edo State gubernatorial election.”
The election, which was keenly contested, was won by the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, defeating his closest rivals, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party.
“This development is a call to more dedication and commitment to quality governance as promised to the people of Edo State and the entire nation, as the electorates of Edo State have entrusted leadership power to you at this critical period when the national interest in governance is totally about reforms and repositioning for rapid development and growth.”
“I have confidence in your genuine intentions on providing quality leadership and further pray that the Almighty God will guide you to take Edo State to the desired level of development, trusting that you will surpass expectations in all ramifications of governance,” he concluded.
