EID-EL-ADHA: Dr Adeduntan Greets Muslims, Preaches Peaceful Co-Existence • We’re Coming – Int’l Cardiovascular Surgeon Assures Teeming Supporters of Next Move.
The Osi Basorun of Ibadanland, Prince (Dr.) Azeez Popoola Adeduntan has felicitated with Muslims in Oyo state and across the country, as they join other faithful around the world to celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.
“Adeduntan who was a gubernatorial aspirant in the last month primary election of the All Progressive Congress(APC) in the state which was allegedly marred by electoral fraud and irregularities, and for which Adeduntan was a fact and material witness as a cleared and vetted aspirant”; in a release issued by his media office in Ibadan, he urged the Muslims Ummah to uphold the lessons of love, loyalty and sacrifice which are the foundation of the festival, during and after the festivities.
He said the Eid-el-Kabir festival offers the opportunity for sober reflection and spiritual renewal which Allah demands from the faithful.
Dr Adeduntan urged the Muslim faithful and adherents of other faiths in the country to make peaceful coexistence their watchword and work together for a more peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.
“People need to imbibe the lessons of commitment, dedication and obedience to higher authority as demonstrated in Prophet Ibraheem’s willingness to sacrifice his son in deference to the will of God, which Eid-el-Kabir commemorates.”
“It is only through the love for one another and commitment to peace, security and stability that the country can progress towards the fulfilment of its great potentials as a nation”, he said.
Commenting on his long silence after the primary election held in the party, Adeduntan described the exercise as “a disgrace, scam , fraud, electoral coup detat and corruption which had torn the party apart in the state.
“No single primary in Oyo state was untainted. The worst being the governorship primary where there were doctored delegates list, cross over voting by active PDP members, corrupt accreditation process and votes allocations for which Adeduntan is ready to unmask people behind this.
He lamented,”The so called reconciliation exercise by the minority group initiated by Omodewu and led by Sen. Lanlehin is a barren exercise, a wild goose chase that will yield no fruits as the injustice that led to the outcome cannot be legally cured in Oyo state alone, but jointly with the NWC of the APC, which was an accessory before and after the fact of fraud in Oyo APC primaries.
The world reknown cardio vascular surgeon assured his supporters across the state of his next move soon, which shall be made public.
He urged Muslim faithful to pray for peace in the state as they perform the Arafat rites today and observe Eid-El-Kabir tomorrow noting that the fervent prayers by various religious bodies and individuals have accounted largely for the peace that the state and the nation enjoy in recent times.
“I extend warm greetings to the Muslim Ummah in Oyo state as they celebrate Eid-el-Kabir Sallah festival.
“I wish the good people of Oyo State and Nigeria the joy, peace and blessing of the season.
“As we celebrate, let us remember the poor and the needy in line with God’s injunction to be our brother’s keeper,”he added.
“May Oyo state and Nigeria succeed,not through fraudulent electoral corruption,but free,fair and credible ones”, Dr Adeduntan submitted.
