Former Senator representing Oyo South District, Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi has urged Muslim faithful to complement their fasting that draws to a close today with charity.”This is the peak of moral virtues”,he maintained.
Akanbi also emphasised that,”It is almost every place in the glorious Quran that Almighty Allah(SWT) links the establishment of ‘Zakah’ with the compulsory prayers,’Salat’.
Quoting from ‘Quran 24 vs 56’, Akanbi said,”All Muslims are enjoined to establish regular prayers and give the prescribed charity, and obey the messenger that you may receive mercy “
Senator Adesoji Akanbi who used the auspicious occasion of the end of Ramadan to felicitate with all Muslims across the globe and urge them to always spare a thought for the less privileged in the Society, even, after the fasting period to complete their piety, wished the faithful happy EID-EL-FITR celebrations.
The Okanlomo of Ibadan prayed for peace and economic prosperity to reign in our Nigeria and world at large.”Barka da Sallah”. He greeted.
