Eid-el-Fitri: Piety, Love, and Kindness Must Be Imbibed Beyond Ramadan—Senator Akintunde Urges, Felicitates with Muslim Ummah

The Distinguished Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Dr. Yunus Akintunde, has enjoined Muslim Ummah to continue in the spirit of love, kindness, and pious living exemplified during the period of Ramadan fasting.

This was expressed in his message of felicitations to Muslims in a release by Kunle Olatunji, his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, made available to the media as the Eid-el-Fitri celebration marks the end of the Ramadan fasting period for this year.

“The teachings of the Prophets as contained in the Holy Quran enjoin all Muslims and everyone to imbibe the virtues of piety, kindness to humanity, love, and quality worship of Almighty Allah at all times beyond the period of Ramadan fasting alone. Let us sustain those virtues in our daily engagements with steady and unwavering commitments.

“I am using this opportunity to thank Almighty Allah for the opportunity to engage in this year’s fasting period.”

“I sincerely pray that Almighty Allah receive our Duah and Sakat while we continue to dwell in reflections of the teachings and dedications to worship of Allah during the holy month of Ramadan.

“It is also important for us to live together in harmony within our various communities and continue to pray for the development of our nation while we support the leadership of the country at all levels.

“For me as a critical stakeholder within the leadership structure at this critical moment in our nation, I strongly believe that we must also ensure our commitment to the people in making life much better at all times. That, to me, is the essence of governance, and I have consistently sustained that assurance and commitment to our people at all times with a pledge to surpass expectations by the grace of God.”

“I rejoice with all our Muslim faithful as we celebrate the end of this year’s Ramadan fasting period and pray that the Almighty Allah will spare our lives to experience many more years ahead in peace and his divine benevolence.” He concluded.
