As Muslims across the world celebrate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Senator Yunus Akintunde has called for reflection, unity, and service to humanity, urging Nigerians to use this sacred occasion to strengthen the bonds of peaceful coexistence and compassion in their daily lives.
In his Eid-el-Mawlud Nabbiy message, Senator Akintunde emphasised the importance of emulating the Prophet Muhammad’s teachings in both personal and communal actions. He highlighted that the Holy Prophet’s exemplary life should guide individuals to serve humanity with sincerity, fairness, and empathy.
“The birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is the culmination of perfection of Allah’s religion,” Senator Akintunde stated. “The Noble Prophet came as ‘Al-Aqib’ (the Final) in the list and ranking of Allah’s Prophets. He came as the Messenger, the Just, the Righteous, the Bounteous, the Dependable, the Cheerful, the Articulate, the Helper, the Wise, the Gatherer, the Leader, the Generous, the Well-Guided, the Granter of Intercession, the Manifest, the Warner, the Purifier, the Proclaimer, the Light-Giving Lamp, and the one with several other lofty attributes.”
Akintunde urged his constituents to use the Eid-el-Mawlud holiday as a time for spiritual reflection, to ponder over the purpose of their creation and how they can contribute meaningfully to society.
“I implore constituents to spend today’s holiday of Eid-el-Maoulud in deep spiritual reflections about our being and the reasons we have been created by the Almighty. Let us emulate the Holy Prophet (SAW) in our deeds. May Allah ease all our affairs,” Senator Akintunde added.
The Senator further emphasised the critical need for peaceful cohabitation among all Nigerians, regardless of religion or ethnicity, stating that harmonious living is essential for national progress and development.
“As we reflect on the Prophet’s life, let us work towards creating an environment where peace, love, and understanding thrive. We must serve one another with kindness and uphold the values of unity that strengthen our communities,” he said.
Senator Akintunde’s call aligns with his continuous advocacy for communal harmony and good governance, urging citizens to focus on service to humanity and the greater good.
“May this celebration inspire us to live in the spirit of generosity, peace, and unity. Akintunde stated while concluding his message with prayers for the nation and its people, wishing all Muslims a peaceful and spiritually fulfilling Eid-el-Mawlud.
