EndSARS: Adelabu Wipes Tears of Slain Police Officers’ Widows, Gives Financial Supports.

Former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN), Oloye Abdul-Waheed Adebayo Adelabu has given financial supports to the wives of the slain police officers, during EndSARS struggles in Oyo- State, yesterday in Ibadan.

Gubernatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC), in the state, during 2019 General Election, Oloye Adelabu while giving his opening remarks, during the presentation, empathised with the widows and condoled them that may God always repose the souls of their late husbands.

The Financial Guru, Adelabu reminisced his childhood experience when he lost his biological father at age of four and how he was later raised by a widow.

The Agbaakin Parakoyi Olubadan of Ibadan Land, Oloye Adelabu revealed that, “We’ve waited for months to avoid appearing political and to give the state government time to live to their expectations but after 7month when they are not forthcoming, I decided to support the widows as it had appeared to me immediately after the sad incidents.

“My this humble gesture shows that you are not forgotten and it reaffirms it that the labour of your late husbands were not in vain. My sisters let’s trust God, He will not let us down. And see me and my wife as your brother and sister, we are with you.

On his readiness to rebuild the police stations that were set ablaze during EndSARS protest, Adelabu recounted his nostalgic experience of selling items for his late grandmother in mid 70’s, behind Ojoo Police Station. He lamented how it pained him to see such historical edifice to be set ablaze and left unattended to by the state government.

The notable Philanthropist, Oloye Bayo Adelabu reaffirmed his commitments to always be on the side of common men in the street. He charged the government and solicited for immediate employments, job opportunities, shops’ allocations, for business persons among the widows, and constant supports for them.

In her own remarks, the Founder, Kaliat Widows’ Center, Alhaja Hajia Iyabode Aliu (Iya Awon Opo) while mentoring the widows, stated that, “I greet my fellow widows. It is only widows like us that know where shoes pinch. I greet you and I thank God on your behalf that you meet empathetic Benefactor, Chief Bayo Adelabu. Adelabu places widows on his priority lists and the teaming widows in my centre are among his beneficiaries. They have jobs and they are very Okay, all to the glory of God and supports of Oloye Bayo Adelabu.

Alhaja Aliu further beseeched the windows to avoid temptations and invest the token gainfully for the sake of their children, their education and future. “Please, invest in a business that you know. Don’t invest in a strange business that can take your money away.

“And please, try to join widows’ organisation(s) that is very close to you to avoid loneliness. My own happened in 1997 and I didn’t remarry. I used my time to concentrate on my children and thank God, I’m enjoying it today because my children are very successful.

In his remarks, Prince Abass Aleshinloye, revealed that, ” I’m here because of three things. Firstly, Oloye Bayo Adelabu is Omoluabi to the core and I’m always ready to be associated with any of his activities. Secondly, I’m here because Oloye Adelabu’s gesture is pro-people and progressive in nature. And thirdly, Mrs Feranmi’s late husband, Rotimi was my first ‘Police Aide’ as ALGON Chairman.

Rotimi was a committed police officer and a genuine family man. May God repose the souls of all our fallen heroes “, Aleshinloye prayed.

Aleshinloye described Adelabu as a rare humanitarianist and he maintained that, “if Oloye Adelabu is given opportunity to govern the state comes 2023, he will perform excellently and make life better for common men on the street.

“My sisters, God Almighty will never leave you and by His Grace, we are with you. You shall not lack and God will always give you fortitude to bear this loss”, Aleshinloye prayed for the widows.

In his own remarks, the Chairman, Police Community Relations Commitee(PCRC) in Egbeda Local Government Area of Oyo-State, Apostle Adisa MO(JP) thanked God for the pro-people life of Oloye Adelabu. He revealed that he was born by a policeman.

“I was born by a policeman. When my father was alive, his salary was meagre, so, I know the challenges of the widows and the tasks before them. I sympathised and empathised with you, may God be with you”, he prayed.

While commenting, A High Chief in Ibadan Land and younger Brother to late Governor Ajimobi, Oloye Wasiu Ajimobi, Laguna Olubadan of Ibadan land, lauded Oloye Adelabu for his continual humanitarian gestures. He saluted Adelabu’s zeal to come up after waiting for months and the state government is still forthcoming.

Oloye Ajimobi frowned at the state government’s lackadaisical attitudes. He commended the early speakers. He prayed for Chief Seyi Adelabu, Wife of Oloye Bayo Adelabu, for always being there for women, especially, widows and the vulnerable.

In her remarks, Chief Seyi Adelabu, empathised with the widows and thanked her husband, Oloye Adelabu for having instinctive nature to help people, especially, women, youth and the aged. She prayed for the widows and reaffirmed her constant supports for them.

Mrs Bolanle on behalf of other beneficiaries, widows, thanked Oloye Adelabu. She prayed for him that may God always bless him and reward him abundantly.

The beneficiaries, widows, were Mrs Oladele Feranmi, Mrs Alidu Esther, Adegoke Bolanle, Peter Abegunde and Mrs Akanmu Beauty.

Dignitaries in attendance were Oloye Bayo Adelabu and Chief(Mrs) Seyi Adelabu, Oyo-State APC Leader, Alhaji Wale Sanusi, Laguna Olubadan, Oloye Wasiu Ajimobi, Oyo ALGON Chairman, Prince Abass Aleshinloye, APC Chieftain, Hon. Wale Murphy, PCRC Egbeda Chair, Engr Adisa MO (JP), Baale Owoade, Founder, Kaliat Widows Center, Alhaja Hajia Iyabode Aliu (Iya Awon Opo) among others.
