ERRANDS

Hello dear reader! How have you been? It is so wonderful to reach out to you again on another gist level. This time, I will love to concentrate on errands as a topic, in relation to how we can groom ourselves and build up a good network.

Everyone is expected to have run an errand at least once in a life time. From childhood, parents must have had reasons to send their children to deliver some kind of package or message, buy things; clear the sink or do some other chores within or outside the home.

Today, it is not a new thing that some people run errands for money, as a kind of occupation and source of livelihood. This can be so intriguing and overwhelming at the same time but since there is some gain in it, no one is likely to complain. Now let’s see if it will be the same, if there is no gain for you in running an errand, will you still put the same energy and faithfulness into it? Will you still run the errand and feel pleased?

Errands are for specific reasons they may either come with an immediate reward or not. Specifically, some errands are a means to an end in that we may most likely get an insight into our purpose; meet a helper, a lover or a mentor, in the course of running the errand sincerely and honestly. Sometimes errands may seem a little bit humiliating and tiring especially when they make us feel disadvantaged. However, I can boldly say to you that errands can groom as well as favour one if done with a sincere heart.

I’ve met some good friends in the course of running errands. There was a time I was on an errand that required that I make an extra effort to understand the terrain of the place where I was to get the errand done. Also, I have had reasons to consult books and get help online in order to get an errand done, like you would guess, it was my first time on such an errand. To wrap it up, none of these errands have monetary gain or material gains attached to it.

Notwithstanding, I did each of them with my whole heart, painstakingly and diligently too. The first thing I noticed was I felt like a pro afterwards. It will never be a difficult thing to do such a task again either for gain or not. The most important thing was that I gained experience, added to my bag of knowledge and got a mastery of the task which can help in getting other tasks done or proffering a solution in that regard any time in the future.

Not just that, I can build a network from the connect I made. If our goals and interests tally, we can do business or just merrily make impacts together and at the long run have a real net worth too. Henceforth, I do not want you to view errands as something meant for illiterates especially when it has no attached gain. As long as you are available, joyfully run some errands with an open mind and no grudges; and I will be waiting for your thank you note.
