The CEO of Alebimoon Citi Hotels, Alhaji Semiu Alebiosun will turn 51years in a few hours, precisely on the 18th January, 2022. Wishes are already pouring in from friends, associates and admirers who hold the highly revered Business magnate and politician in high esteem. In an exclusive interview with the well admired media influencer, Adegbola Oluwaseun (Triple Tee), Semiu Alebiosun speaks on the planned celebration, successes, regret, politics and future aspiration.

Excerpt below: GROWING UP
I was born on February 18th, 1970, exactly 51 years ago in Alafara Oje at Tella compound of Ibadan Northeast Local Government. Our Village is at Egbeda Local Government. My father, Chief Suara Alebiosu was a successful business merchant and a devoted family man who paid strong attention and care to his family. So while there was less of wealth and affluence, this was neatly eclipsed by the overwhelming presence of love and affection. It was definitely enough to be loved and cared for in the way my father organized his family.

EDUCATION
You cannot have my kind of father and be indifferent or lackadaisical to study. It was a rule of thumb in our house to attain a certain level of education as a minimum at that time. In my case I attended Ratibi Muslim School, Oluyoro between 1976 and 1983 from where I proceeded to Army Children Secondary for my secondary education between 1983 and 1988. I was to later badge a diploma in accountancy from the exalted Plateau School of Accountancy and Management studies in 1993. I am also currently a member of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). As there is no end to studying, I am poised to fire on.

CAREER
Reflecting on his post Diploma era, Semiu Alabiosu opined that his quest for purposeful living and economic relevance took him out of Nigeria to Saudi Arabia for nearly 20 years in 1994 where he worked with a number of conglomerates notable among which is Priority Options Establishment (POE) as a facility manager. ’’I was opportune to travel abroad and worked with a number of companies in the hospitality industry. With the benefits of observation, I was able to develop and hone my skills in hospitality and management as well interior lighting and events planning. I knew after my second year in Saudi Arabia that it was just only matter of time before I return home to domicile my knowledge and experience. So the vision for Alebimoon Citi Hotels was baked several years ago before it later metamorphosed to reality in the year 2018. We have since moved from strength to strength and recently commissioned our third Citi hotel in Ibadan. To God be the glory, great things. He has done for us’’. When quizzed about his other business areas, Alhaji Semiu Aleiosu was quick to mention that he is also into event planning, rentals and management as well as car sales albeit under his second company “Alegede Enterprise” which even antedate Alebimoon Citi hotels.

POLITICAL CAREER
For me politics is what I am passionate about because it is the biggest layer of influence in a state. It controls all other strata within a society. My immediate interest in politics is not for material gain or position. Politics for me is a medium for touching lives and improving communal good. Whenever politics disunite from these objectives, I will become disinterested. I live for common good because I know the good we secure for ourselves is precarious and uncertain until it is secured for all of us and incorporated into our common life. Pressed about his previous and current political expeditions, Alebiosu opined that he had served as APC Youth Coordinator in Egbeda Local council area as well as Secretary to the Egbeda Local Government. I am also the pioneer and current Chairman of Progressive Oyo Connect (POC), and the Director General of Nurudeen Faozey Oladotun Senatorial Campaign. We have been adjudged to be doing well on Faozey’s senatorial aspiration with our strategies and deep rooted engagements across multiple layers from communities, party men and women, leaders and critical stakeholders of the state. We hope in the end, we shall celebrate our accomplished mission together.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
In all areas where we have business presence, we have and are still giving back in our own little way. We conduct yearly free medical outreach that includes diagnostics, treatment and sometimes surgery to residents of our business areas. We believed rigidly that nothing compares to good health and happiness and that physical fitness is the first requisite for happiness. We have also routinely cleaned up our environments because we won’t have a society If we destroy the environment. Similarly, we also habitually organized Christmas parties for children and young adults. We are hoping to do more in the coming period as grace abounds.

REGRET
Looking back, a lot of things could have been better done. I have incubated valuable ideas that I mistakenly shared among friends, partners and strong allies who in turn played on my naivety to rush to it before I am financially ready to start. But what does not kill a man will make him strong. I bear no grudge whatsoever against mortal men whose unique traits are fallibilities, and imperfections. The mistakes I have made are dead to me because I cannot take back the things I never did. I get experience even when I don’t get what I want. It is the comb that nature gives us after we are bald. But it takes a lot of time to get it, once you have it just go on using it. I always look forward to possibilities.

FAMILY
I know you expected me to draw up a list of wives and extras. Polygamy is not in my dictionary. I am a firm believer in the doctrine of monogamy and fidelity. I am married to a single wife and blessed with three children. I will not trade my family for anything.

FUTURE ASPIRATIONS
Man proposes but God disposes. Tomorrow belongs to God alone. So, precisely, I cannot tell but most definitely in the realm of fulfillment. I know I am created for common good. It is the only driver of my actions and purpose. I don’t despair on anyone. At 51, I have seen enough to know that tables turn and anyone can be someone. All my aspirations are vested on human good. I do not want to be remembered for the number of Citi hotels I established or the number of buildings I owned but rather for the number of lives that breathe easier because I live. This for me is to be successful.

CELEBRATION
I never had any plan to celebrate because I am a very busy man. But you cannot be in the hospitality industry as a successful player and have a quiet party. Interestingly, I am also a grassroot politician. I cannot run from my people. So we hope to host guests, admirers and well wishers at our Citi Hotel at Old Ife road, Ibadan. We humbly request everyone present to be kind and peaceful. This is what our brand represents.
