Explosion Rocks Ibadan, Oyo Govt Calls for Calm

On Tuesday evening, explosion rocked major parts of Ibadan. It was heard around Bodija-Mokola-Sango-UI-UCH axis and it sent threatening waves across major parts of Ibadan with no official causes of the ‘Ibadan explosion’ known.

As confirmed by the government of Oyo State, the ‘Ibadan explosion’ was reported to have emanaten from the “Dejo Oyelese Street of Adeyi Estate inside Old Bodija, Ibadan.

Reports has it that, house were destroyed and some casualties recorded from the primary scene of the Ibadan explosion with other nearby environs suffered one or two effects of the unfortunate occurrence.

“Residents of Ibadan and immediate environ experienced an uncommon explosion about 8pm this evening.

There are various interpretations of the incident but it is important for us to state categorically that the state government has taken over and in the full control of the unfortunate occurrence in in order to mitigate the incident.

All security service chiefs including para military chiefs and Fire Operatives have been deployed by the governor to Reign in the spillover from the explosion. 

His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde therefore implores citizens to calm down and be rest assured that their interests are being looked after.
