In a resolute declaration, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has emphasised an unwavering commitment to peace in the state, deeming no price too high for its attainment.
This pledge, rooted in the Abuja deal—an eight-point agreement involving key stakeholders—aims to resolve longstanding crises within the region.
Addressing the public during the 3rd Convocation and 6th Founders Day ceremonies at PAMO University of Medical Sciences in Iriebe Town, Obio-Akpor Local Government Area, Governor Fubara affirmed.
“There is no price that will be too big to pay to ensure that peace prevails.” He assured continued dedication to meeting the necessary requirements for sustaining peace.
Highlighting key priorities, the governor underscored his administration’s focus on providing a robust education system and accessible public healthcare.
Fubara remarked, “While some progress has been made, it is obvious that a lot still needs to be done to achieve our collective aspirations for universal access to quality education and healthcare for our people.
Acknowledging the strides made by PAMO University in just six years, the governor praised the institution founded by Dr. Peter Odili as Nigeria’s premier private medical institution.
According to The Nation, Fubara detailed tangible support, including an increase in state scholarships from 100 to 150 students yearly, expressing the government’s commitment to fostering the university’s growth and enhancing medical education and services within the state.
