Fuel Subsidy Removal, An Action for National Redemption | Dr Johnny Benjamin.

The removal of fuel subsidy by former President Mohammadu Buhari which was confirmed for implementation by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on assumption of office as President and Commander in Chief, is a right step in the right direction for National Redemption.

We believe in the capacity of our Principal, President Bola Tinubu to deliver the dividends of democracy in Nigeria. Fuel subsidy was a national embarrassment and a conduit pipe by some elements to continue to milk the country dry.

It is appalling to hear the huge amount of moneys expended on the evil called fuel subsidy. Such moneys should be redirected to other sectors of the economy and promoted our well being rather than have it to sponsor a meaningless subsidy that does not have any possible impact on the lives of our people as the policy only benefits the rich, while the poor and the poorest keep wallowing in abject poverty.

We call on all well meaning Nigerians to support the removal of the fuel subsidy and allow government to redirect such funds to other sectors that will be beneficial to all Nigerians and improve of economy and standard of living.

We appreciate the good gesture of the former President for taking the bold step of removal of the subsidy and also salute the courage of President Bola Tinubu for demonstrating genuine commitments to grow the economy and bring about a better Nigeria.
