Gov Ajimobi’s Demise : Colossal Loss to Progressive Family – APYF Mourns , Pays Tribute .
All Progressive Youth Forum(APYF), a group of committed progressive youth of the All Progressive Congress(APC) has expressed shock and sadness over the demise of the immediate past governor of Oyo state, Senator Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi who passed away on Thursday, June 25 at age of 70.
Sen. Ajimobi , a man of many parts while alive was a different person to different people. To us in APYF , we just lost a courageous leader, a compassionate boss, an uncommon achiever, a strong willed leader and a political colossus. In all realms, the vacuum created by the passing away of Sen. Ajimobi in the leadership circle of this country will be difficult to fill. A great mentor just transited to the great beyond.
The passing away of the immediate past deputy chairman South of our great party- APC as painful and sudden as it came to us cannot overshadow the legacies and good deeds of our revered leader. We took solace in the fact that the late gov lived a hugely successful and fulfilled life, both in his private and public life. Aside reaching the pinnacle of his professional career in his private life, the late Governor made a mark in the political landscape of this country, having been elected a Senator in his first foray politically, he capped it all with his unprecedented two terms tenure as Governor of the pace setter state. His extraordinary performance as a Governor earned him the nickname, the architect of modern Oyo state, with his infrastructure revolution that changed the outlook of the state for good. Aare Atunluse of Ibadan lived well and will forever be celebrated by all and sundry.
Our condolences go to his immediate family, especially, his loving wife, Chief(Dr) Florence Ajimobi, and other members of both his immediate and extended family for the loss of a husband, father, grandfather and patriarch. We pray God console them. We as well condole with the good people of Oyo state, the APC and the country at large for the loss of an elder statesman. May we all be consoled. Amen.
