Asiwaju Olawuyi Folarin Alao popularly known as OFAB has greeted Nigerians on the occasion of this year June 12 Nigerian Democracy day.

The 1993 Nigerian presidential election was held on 12 June 1993 in the Nigerian Third Republic, the first since the 1983 military coup ended the country’s Second Republic. The elections were the outcome of a transitional process to civilian rule spearheaded by the then military ruler, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB).

Democracy Day is now June 12, a national public holiday in Nigeria. This is done to commemorate the democratic election of MKO Abiola on June 12, 1993, in what has been adjudged to be Nigeria’s freest and fairest elections. It was, however, cancelled by IBB Junta.

Asiwaju Olawuyi, a known philanthropist and patriotic Nigerian saluted the courage of all Nigerians in this trying time and prayed that we overcome all our challenges as nation and come out more stronger.
