Hijrah 1443 – Oyo Guber Hopeful, Sen Fatai Buhari Felicitates With Muslims.

As Muslims across the world commence another new year, 1443 A.H. Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District, Dr Buhari Abdulfatai has rejoiced with Muslims in the district and Oyo State in general.

The lawmaker, Buhari charged Muslims to use the occasion of the Islamic new year to pray for unity and peace of the country. He stated this in his congratulatory message to people of Oyo North and Oyo State at large which was made available to journalists today, in Ogbomoso.

According to Senator Buhari, Holy Prophet Muhammad made the new year a unique day as a result of his migration with his companions from Mecca to Medina in order to avoid been persecuted by the unbelievers.

“The Holy Prophet Muhammad had to do just that to foster peace in Saudi Arabia and ensure the emergence of Islamic Community where socio-political system was institutionalized,” Buhari maintained.

“I advise my brotheren to be the good ambassadors of Islam as our religion teaches nothing but peace and unity with their fellow human beings irrespective of their creed or colour, region or religion”, he said.

Buhari prayed that may the new year feature great things in the life of everyone in the State and wished the faithful many happy returns of the year on the surface of earth.

The Prophet’s Hijrah was one of the most important events in the history of Islam.

Hijrah, (Arabic: “Migration” or “Emigration”) also spelled Hejira or Hijra, Latin Hegira, the Prophet Muhammad’s migration (622 CE) from Mecca to Yathrib (Medina).

The Islamic Hijrah calendar was established by the second rightly guided Caliph and the Prophet’s close Companion, Umar Ibn Al-Khattab, in 637/638 AD.
