Senator Yunus Akintunde Extends Greetings on Hijrah 1446AH

In a solidarity message commemorating the Islamic New Year, Senator Yunus Akintunde has conveyed his heartfelt greetings to the Muslim community on the auspicious occasion of Hijrah 1446AH.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and publications, Kunle Olatunji, Senator Akintunde underscored the importance of the Hijrah, signifying the migration of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) from Mecca to Medina. He emphasised the enduring lessons of perseverance, faith, and unity encapsulated in this historic event.

“On this auspicious occasion of Hijrah 1446AH, I extend my sincere greetings to all Muslims in our great nation and around the world,” Senator Akintunde stated.

“The Hijrah reminds us of the importance of faith, determination, and the spirit of brotherhood. It is a time for reflection on our journey, both personal and collective, and an opportunity to renew our commitment to the values of peace, compassion, and justice.”

Senator Akintunde urged all Muslims to imbibe the spirit of unity, tolerance, and mutual respect during this period. He stressed that these values are crucial for fostering harmony and understanding in the society.

“As we mark the beginning of the Islamic New Year, let us pray for the well-being of our country and for the strength to overcome our challenges. May this year bring peace, prosperity, and blessings to all,” he added.

Senator Akintunde wished all Muslims a blessed and fulfilling New Year, filled with Allah’s grace and mercy.
