Hon Bimbo Kolade Pays Tribute to Late Prince Ajibola Afonja

Honourable Bimbo Kolade, the Federal Commissioner of Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) from Oyo State, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Prince Ajibola Afonja, a former chairman of the First Bank of Nigeria.

In a statement issued in Fiditi, Hon. Kolade, fondly referred to as “IREDE,” described the former Minister, Prince Afonja as a committed and dedicated Prince of Oyo Kingdom. “Prince Afonja was a true patriot and a selfless leader who dedicated his life to serving his people and his country.

Hon. Kolade hailed Prince Afonja as a good philanthropist and a good encourager of the young. “He was a kind and generous soul who always had a word of encouragement for those around him. His contributions to the development of Oyo town, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole will never be forgotten,” he added.

Prince Afonja passed away on Sunday night at the age of 82. He was a respected statesman in Nigeria, and his death has been widely mourned.

Hon. Kolade prayed that God grant the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the departure of their valued patriarch and that God repose the soul of the late Afonja in Al-Janat Firdaus.

With Prince Afonja’s death, Nigeria has lost a true statesman and a dedicated business magnate. His legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
