How Tinubu prevented Trump invasion of Nigeria with diplomacy

The Director General (DG) of Michael Imodu Institute for Labour and Employment of Labour Studies, Ilorin, Kwara State, Alhaji Isa Aremu, on Wednesday, explained how President Bola Ahmed Tinubu outsmarted his United States of America counterpart, Donald Trump, over the recent alleged genocide in some parts of the country, guardian. ng/news reported.
Aremu, during his opening speech at the institution’s fifth Ramadan lecture series, titled “The role of Muslims in supporting the bereaved”, organised by its Muslim community, said rather than throw banters or call President Trump derogatory names, President Tinubu “kept quiet and worked underneath to dissuade him”.
According to Aremu, “President Bola Tinubu used diplomacy to stop Trump from attacking Nigeria over imaginary and non-existent genocide.

“If President Tinubu had not deployed diplomacy in that case, perhaps we would have been going after one another; we would by now be killing ourselves.

“Come to think of it, the same Trump, three weeks after, commended the first lady, Oluremi Tinubu, for efforts at people’s welfare,” he stated.
The DG, however, enjoined all to still be hopeful even in the face of the ravaging insecurities in some parts of the country.
Aremu, who called for diplomacy in settling the current war between Iran and the US, said that it is better to jaw-jaw than to war-war because of bereaved families.
Aremu said the world needs peace, adding that everyone and every institution should encourage peaceful coexistence.
Meanwhile, the guest lecturer, Professor AbdulRazaq AbduMajeed Alaro, listed the expectations of the society to the families of the bereaved.
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) advisor on non-interest banking cautioned against the attitude of borrowing to execute funeral rites, adding that it is mandatory for the bereaved families to settle the debts incurred by the deceased before attempting to share his/her property.
