Hypocrisy of the Highest Order: Why Comparing Seyi Tinubu with Yusuf Buhari is a Deep Injustice to Merit | Prince John Aremu

In the current landscape of Nigerian politics and youth influence, some comparisons are not only misplaced but insult the intelligence of discerning minds. One such is the attempt to draw parallels between Seyi Tinubu and Yusuf Buhari — a move that reeks of hypocrisy at the highest order.

Seyi Tinubu is a name that echoes beyond the corridors of Aso Rock. He has consistently positioned himself as a bridge between young Nigerians and governance, using his platform to empower, influence, and drive meaningful conversations on national progress. Whether you agree with his politics or not, you cannot deny his visible involvement, public engagements, philanthropic strides, and strategic roles in mobilising youth for national development.

On the other hand, Yusuf Buhari — though a son of a former president — has largely remained a private figure with limited public or political influence. While this is not a criticism of his character, it is a clear reflection of reality: visibility, responsibility, and impact are not equal.

Comparing the two is not only misleading; it attempts to equalise effort with entitlement, presence with silence, and service with privilege.

Let us stop normalising false equivalence. Leadership is not inherited — it is earned, demonstrated, and measured by service to people and commitment to cause.

Signed:

Prince John Arem,
Oyo State APC youth leader.
