Ibadan: Chief Imam Visits Soji Akanbi, Offers Prayer in His Mosque.
The Chief Imam of Ibadan Land, Sheik Abubakr Agbotomokekere has paid courtesy visit on Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi in his his residence in Ibadan . Chief Imam offered prayer in Akanbi’s mosque and extolled the virtues of his ancestors.
” It was indeed a great pleasure to host one of the greatest Islamic scholars Yoruba land has produced, the Grand Chief Imam of Ibadan Land, FADILATU SHEIK ABUBAKIR BAKIR AGBOTOMOKEKERE; accompanied by Sheik Hasim Atere”, Akanbi revealed.
“Also present were the Missioners of two great Islamic Societies, Alhaji Abdul Qadir Adekilekun Saadallah, the Missioner, NASFAT, Oyo State and Dr Basir Olanrewaju Eleshinmeta, the Missioner, ANSAR UD DEEN, Oyo state.
“The Chief Imam offered heartfelt prayers for a successful long life and more and gave a short charge during Ashri prayers on the importance of having Masjid at one’s residence. In his words, Baba mentioned the relationship between my family and his; which has been on for almost two centuries, traced back to four generations, my great grandfather and Alfa Agba Oke Koto.
“He emphasised on the fact that he is super impressed with me with respect to my in-depth involvement in religious affairs; adding that, God has actually harkened to the prayers of Baba Isale (my Dad) in that regard. He further added that, ‘it is rare to see a Muslim successful man with a submissive wife and leading a complete successful Muslim family’.
“Baba also referenced the antecedents of Al-Furqhan Hajj and Umrah Services (Libragold Travels & Tours ltd), which I happen to be the Group Executive Chairman and my amazing wife Zhikrah Afolake Aduke Akanbi,the Group Managing Director. He testified that, majority of active Muslims in Nigeria have given numerous positive feedbacks on hajj and Ummrah operations by the company.
“I’m indeed grateful for the honour and privilege to have him around, it is a memorable one and I will always cherish it. Jazakalahu Khairan”, Akanbi stated.
