Ibadan City Academy: Old Students’ Association 2000 Set Organises Reunion, Gives Back to Alma Mater.

It was a sweet reunion and celebration of achievement for Ibadan City Academy(ICA) Old Students’ Association, Class of 2000, as they converged at the St Mary Event Center, Ibadan, in commemoration of their 20th anniversary.

The Secretary of ICA Millennium Set, Hon. Adegoke Oladiipo stated that the gathering provided an avenue for them to donate and celebrate their teachers, as the outstanding ones were presented with awards for positively influencing and instilling discipline in them.

According to the Chairman of the Association, Dr Dare Agboola, he said, it was a successful milestone and series of events to bring more unity among the alumni and also a good opportunity to now prioritise giving back to our alma mater.

“Thus as part of our giving back to the institution, that has made us great and to transform our lives, we will be launching the donation of 60 White boards with markers to the institution and we do hope it will not end there”, chairman said.

“The program featured award ceremony for some of the teachers who taught us while we were in school, this includes Mrs Aderoju who was our set coordinator and Mr O.K Akadri”, the organizers revealed.

Donation: In the event of the program, five white boards and markers with magnetic dusters were donated to our alma mater and other alumni pledged to do more in other to meet up with our target of the sixty units of the board.

“The expiration of the current executive led by Dr Dare Agboola ended in November but unanimously the members returned the executive for another two years tenure while three vacant positions were filled respectively by the following names Abiodun Akande (Internal auditor), Akande Adijat (Assistant General Secretary) and Olaifa Tawa(Treasurer).

The activities ended with a party where the alumni celebrated themselves, reminisced over the past 20 years and paid tribute to classmates who had passed away.

Present at the occasion were Mrs Aderoju, Mr Akadri, Representatives of Motherboard ICAOSA and a host of others.
