Ibadan North 2023 House of Reps Aspirant, Repete Welcomes Adelabu Into APC, Salutes Alh Sanusi, Hon Murphy for Journey Back Home
2023 Ibadan North House of Representatives aspirant, Engr. Khalil Mustapha Repete has welcomed Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and his supporters back into the APC from the Accord Party.
Adelabu, who was tipped to win the APC Governorship primary election in the build-up to the 2023 general elections, immediately left the party after failing to secure the ticket.
The new Minister of Power decamped to the Accord party last year to contest the 2023 governorship election and, on Friday, December 15th, returned to his former political party.
While welcoming Adelabu and his supporters back to the APC, Repete said the power minister had taken a good step.
Repete also hailed Alhaji Wale Sanusi and Hon. Wale Murphy for returning to the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State. He said that both Sanusi and Murphy’s political might can’t be undermined in the Ibadan North local government in particular.
In a statement issued by Engr. Repete, it was noted that the bigger commendation and appreciation should go to the leaders of the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the various levels for the sense of sacrifice, patriotism, and devotion to the progress of the party demonstrated by them in the process of welcoming Adelabu and his supporters into its fold.
“I am happy that Chief Adelabu and his supporters have finally reunited with their progressive families.
There is no place like home, and Egbon Bayo and his supporters who went to the Accord Party are back home for good.
“I have no doubt that Adelabu’s return to the APC would further strengthen our party to mobilise the people behind the common cause of deepening democratic ethos in our state and restoring prosperity to our people.
“I have an unflinching conviction that Chief Adebayo Adelabu rejoining the party would be an asset to the APC. Together, we can work to eradicate every form of undemocratic tendencies in our body politics and realign the good people of Oyo State to the moving train of democracy and the restoration of good governance to the state,” Repete stated.
“I also welcome my leaders, Alhaji Wale Sanusi and Hon. Wale Murphy, who have been away from APC for a short while. Both Alhaji Wale Sanusi and Hon. Wale Murphy are top-notch, and I believe their political experience will still be a plus for the APC, especially in the Ibadan North local government.
He further urged leaders and stakeholders of Oyo APC to unite and work together with the defectors for the process of the party.
“As politicians and members of the APC, we need to come together and unite for our party to progress and forge ahead,” Repete concluded.
