Ibadan North By-election: Ex-Council Vice Chair, Hon Monsuru Adeyemo ‘Socrates’ Submits Letter of Intent

As Ibadan North Federal Constituency is preparing for the forthcoming by-election, a pro-people politician and former Vice Chairman of the Aare Latoosa Local Council in Oyo State, Hon. Monsuru Akintunde Adeyemo (Socrates) has submitted his letter of intent on Friday, August 30, at the local government secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Yemetu, in Ibadan.

A political delegation led by an influential grassroots mobiliser in the state, Hon. Afeez Bello Mabinuori, and other staunch supporters of Hon. Socrates submitted the letter of intent on behalf of the former student union leader.

The Oyo APC Councillorship Standard-bearer in the 2024 Local Government Election, Hon. Mabinuori, emphasised Hon. Socrates’ mental capacity, depth, and ability to advance pro-people representation and human capital development in the constituency. 

While Addressing the party stakeholders, the party Chairman from Ward 3, Hon. Abideen Olayode, noted that,”One of the party stalwarts in the state and pro-people personality, Socrates, who has been contributing to the promotion and progress of the party at the grassroots, local government, state, and national level from inception, is showing interest in vying for the position of the federal representative in the green chamber, and I wish him success in this journey.

In his remarks, APC chairman in Ibadan North local government, Alhaji Taofeek Olayiwola, welcomed Socrates’ allies and supporters in attendance and noted that “the party is gaining more credibility as the turnout of aspirants for the vacant seat is massive. The party will be fair to all the aspirants, and I wish all of them the very best.

In attendance were Hon. Wale Maranro, Mrs. Layoke, Mr. Biola (Olopa), Mrs. Mariam Alarape, Mr Ganiyu Nurudeen, among several others.
