Ibadan North Bye-Election: Florence Ajimobi Denies Backing Any Candidate.
Wife of the former Governor of Oyo State, Chief (Dr) Florence Ajimobi, has debunked rumours that she is promoting a particular aspirant for the Ibadan North bye-election scheduled for August 16th 2025.
Mrs Ajimobi, who is also the President of the Senator Abiola Ajimobi Foundation (SAAF), emphasised her commitment to democracy and a level playing field for all aspirants.
Ajimobi described all the aspirants as “my political sons and daughters” and stated that she would support whoever emerges through a free and fair primary process, upholding the principles of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The bye-election was necessitated by the passing of Hon. Musiliudeen Olaide Akinremi, a two-term member of the House of Representatives, who represented the Ibadan North federal constituency before his death in July 2024 on the platform of the APC.
