As the All Progressives Congress (APC) prepares for its highly anticipated campaign in Ward 12 of Ibadan North Federal Constituency tomorrow, the political atmosphere is growing increasingly tense. Reports indicate that the venue for the APC’s campaign kickoff at Bodija Market has been blocked by tractors and granite, allegedly ordered by the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) under Governor Seyi Makinde.

Our correspondent confirmed this disturbing development. Hon. Wale Olatunji Murphy, the APC candidate for the upcoming bye-election, expressed his displeasure, labelling the obstruction as a serious threat to Nigeria’s democratic process.

“I visited the site myself and can confirm that it has been blocked. While they may think they can hinder our campaign, it only shows that they are sensing defeat on August 16, 2025. By God’s grace, I, Wale Olatunji of the APC, will emerge victorious,” he stated.

In an additional setback, while the APC sought alternative locations for tomorrow’s campaign in the Bodija area, reports surfaced that the PDP-led government has also ordered refuse to be dumped on the new campaign site overnight.
