With barely a week to the bye-election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency, the All Progressives Congress (APC) officially flagged off its campaign on Friday, August 8, at Bodija Market in Ibadan.

This event witnessed the majority of party stakeholders across the state who trooped out en masse to display their solidarity for the candidate of the party, Hon. Wale Olatunji Murphy.

In his opening speech, Alhaji Olayide Abas, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, lauded the party leaders and members for their commitment, loyalty and steadfastness. He encouraged the electorate in the Federal Constituency to vote for Murphy en masse come August 16.

While addressing the mammoth crowd, Power Minister, Oloye Adebayo Adelabu saluted the party faithful and revealed that all the aggrieved aspirants have sheathed their swords. “Our party is more united than ever, and by His Grace, we’re jointly winning this poll.

“Our people should look beyond this by-election and vote for the Progressives to show appreciation for President Tinubu’s pro-people agenda. This election is very strategic and important; do not fight anybody and vote massively for Murphy and APC.

The Director-General and Deputy Director-General of the campaign council, Oloye Akin Alabi and Oloye Gafar Ojetola, unanimously observed a minute’s silence for Akinremi Jagaban and Oba Ige Olakulehin.

Alabi charged the constituents to vote for APC as the only way to sustain Prince Musiliu Akinremi Jagaban’s pro-people representation. “The electorate will be very lucky to have someone like Murphy in the green chamber, because he is the best man for the job, and APC federal lawmakers in Oyo State will rally round him to deliver.

APC chairman in Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Alhaji Taofeek Olayiwola, canvassed constituents to give their votes to Murphy. “Think Ibadan North Federal Constituency by-election! Think, Murphy. Of course, if anyone asks for the time, you should tell them, ‘It’s Murphy O’Clock,'” he enthused.
