Ibadan North Byelection: APC Waxing Stronger As Socrates, Omikunle, Others Join Forces With Hon Wale Olatunji Murphy, Urge ‘United Front’

As the bye-election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency is fast approaching, one of the frontline aspirants in the contest, Hon. Oluyinka Omikunle, has joined forces with the candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in the upcoming bye-election, Hon. Adewale Olatunji Murphy.

In a meeting held yesterday evening, the APC Chieftain, Omikunle, and the party candidate, Murphy, Omikunle noted that Murphy is his elder brother whom he holds in high esteem. He expressed his reservation on the outcome of the primaries but maintained that the past is gone.

Omikunle vowed to work with Murphy and APC in order to achieve electoral and record landslide victory at the poll.

Early on, Hon. Umar Arisekola Alao congratulated Murphy and assured him of his full support. As reliably gathered, Arisekola has ordered his supporters to work for the emergence of APC flagbearer Murphy and maintained that Oyo APC is a big family.

Former Vice Chairman, Aare Latoosa Local and grassroots politician, Hon. Monsuru Akintunde Adeyemo (Socrates), held a strategic meeting with Murphy in the early hours of yesterday. This was aimed to foster unity and development ahead of the poll and mobilise en masse to ensure an APC landslide victory at the poll.

Other aspirants such as Mrs Olaitan Victor, Adebayo Aderogba, Hon. Abdul Razaq Abdul-Ganiy (Mr GRA) and other aspirants have also affirmed their unalloyed loyalty for Oyo APC and total commitment to Murphy’s landslide victory at the poll.

In a similar development, the chairman of the party in Ibadan North Local Government Area, Alhaji Taofeek Olayiwola, at a stakeholders meeting held yesterday at Alis Hall, adjacent to UCH, Ibadan, revealed that the senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District, Oloye Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, has perfected all plans to convene another reconciliation meeting to resolve other lingering issues and ensure a united Oyo APC ahead of the by-election.
