Ibadan North Byelection: Fear Grips PDP As APC Names ‘Murphy’ Flagbearer • My Co-Aspirants! Let’s Do It Together – Olatunji
This newspaper can authoritatively report that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has nominated a grassroots politician and pro-people thinker, Honourable Adewale Olatunji, popularly known as Murphy, as its standard-bearer in the forthcoming August 16 byelection of the Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
According to a credible source within the party, APC, the ruling party at the federal level, has forwarded Murphy’s name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as its flag bearer in the electoral district.
In a brief interview following his nomination, Olatunji maintained that APC is a great party that parades galaxies of stars and several political assets. He lauded his co-aspirants as great men and women of valour and gallantry who are equally qualified to represent the party at the poll. He sought their immense support and promised inclusive leadership.
Hon. Murphy acknowledged the qualifications of his fellow aspirants and called for their support, stating,”My fellow aspirants! I hold you all in high esteem; please let’s do it together. I vow to make you proud, and I humbly solicit your support.
Olatunji continued, addressing party leaders and constituents, ”To my party leaders and members of our great party, APC, of Ibadan North Federal Constituency! Thanks for nominating me as our party’s standard-bearer in the forthcoming August 16 by-election. The first step has been taken, and let’s take the second step together and record a landslide victory today. With your immense support and our collective efforts, we’ll definitely beat the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and other parties hands down and retain the seat for our much-beloved party, while I promise to toil day and night to better the lots of all in Ibadan North Federal Constituency, party members and regular constituents alike.
