Ibadan North Byelection: The People United Can Never Be Defeated – Oyo APC Chieftain, Socrates, Urges Unity

The pioneer Vice Chairman of the Aare Latoosa Local Council and one of the House of Representatives aspirants who have joined forces with the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer, Honourable Wale Olatunji ‘Murphy’, in the forthcoming August 16 byelection of the Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon. Monsuru Akintunde Adeyemo (Socrates), has urged unity of purpose within the progressive family in Oyo State.

Socrates stated this yesterday while addressing a mammoth crowd at his aboriginal ward, ward 3 of Ibadan North Local Government, during the ongoing campaign of the APC geared towards the August 16 byelection of the federal constituency.

Socrates described the party’s standardbearer in the race, Hon. Wale Olatunji (Murphy), as a well-known, experienced and compassionate politician.

“Hon. Murphy is tested and trusted, and he will perform excellently. I passionately call for unity of purpose among our members and chieftains,” said Socrates while chanting an ideological song, “The people united can never be defeated (3 times).”

Hon. Socrates continued, “As we all know, there is politics, and there is political activism. Meanwhile, a human being is not a creature of logic, but he is a creature of emotion. So, please don’t let us see our aggrieved people as bad people. They need our empathy and understanding; let’s embrace them and work together as a united front to retain the Ibadan North Federal Constituency seat and reclaim Oyo State for progressive governance come 2027.

“Let’s support our leader and one of us, who has emerged as the candidate of our great party, Hon. Murphy, wholeheartedly. This is his time – Murphy O’Clock, you know now, and by His Grace, our time will also come, and we shall not labour in vain.

“All political indicators show that the only strength Seyi Makinde and PDP have in Oyo State is the disunity of Oyo APC. That’s why our leaders, candidates, and members need to live above emotion, ego, and feelings. Let’s prioritise our collective interests and make them mutually consistent, according to John Nash – an ingenious scholar.

“Let’s use our collective strength and energy to fight opposition, not any one of us. After our victory, let’s trust God; he knows how to reward people,” he submitted.
