IBADAN NORTH: Pro-Akinremi Group Dispels ‘Defection Rumour’, Reaffirms Commitment to APC in Oyo State

A group of leaders, members and party executives within the political movement of the late Member of the House of Representatives (MHR) from the Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Prince Musiliu Olaide Akinremi (Jagaban), known as the ‘Akinremi Legacy Forum’, who are still loyal to the All Progressives Congress (APC), has issued a statement reaffirming its commitment to the APC in Oyo State, dispelling rumours of a defection to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

To our supporters, members and APC in Ibadan North Local Government,

We, the AKINREMI LEGACY FORUM, wish to clarify that we remain committed to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State. Under the leadership of our State Chairman, Alhaji pharmacist Olaide Monsur Abass, and our Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Olayiwola Taofeeq, we reaffirm our allegiance to the APC.

We categorically state that we have not defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and have no intention of doing so. We will continue to support and work towards the success of the APC in Ibadan North Local Government and Oyo State.

The Akinremi Legacy Forum formally declares its full and unwavering support for the upcoming primary election scheduled to be held on July 19, 2025, and the byelection on August 16th, 2025.
