Ibadan North Rep, Prince Akínrẹ̀mí Jagaban Sets to Organise Mega Trainings, Empowerment Progs.
Member, House of Representatives(MHR) from Ìbàdàn North Federal Constituency, Prince Olaide Akínrẹ̀mí popularly known as “Jagaban” has concluded to organise two different mega trainings and and empowerment programmes which he facilitated for the good people of his constituency.
These trainings which will take place from Monday 16th August to Friday 20th August 2021 are targeted at women and youths in Ìbàdàn North, with focus on different interesting aspects.
One of these trainings is focused on Catering and Pastry Production, which will hold at Emeritus Professor Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall, Opposite UCH, while the other one is a vocational and entrepreneurial training with Provision of Starter Packs to the trainees, and this will take place at the Prince Akínrẹ̀mí Foundation (PAF) building at Yemetu, Ibadan.
In general, there will be trainings on Cake baking, fries, shawarma, small chops, Asun, and barbeque preparations. There are also aspects focused on the production of Smoothies, Yoghurt, Ice-cream and cocktails.
In addition, there will be trainings on soap making, cream and shampoo making, leather works and handset repairs.
These trainings are parts of the financial independence and individual sustainability agenda of Hon. Prince Olaide Akínrẹ̀mí (Jagaban) who himself is a serial entrepreneur, and has over the years committed enormous resources and effort into assisting new, as well as budding entrepreneurs in Ìbàdàn North and beyond.
Africano Trumpeters Newspaper recalled that as part of his commitment to his people in Ìbàdàn North Federal Constituency, Prince Olaide Akínrẹ̀mí Jagaban in early 2020 organized a Lassa fever Sensitization tour around Ìbàdàn North, and extended it to other parts of Ọ̀yọ́ state.
At the height of the covid-19 pandemic, he distributed over 15,000 nose masks/face shields to his constituents, senior secondary school students writing WAEC exams inclusive. This is alongside provision of palliatives for over 5000 families in Ìbàdàn North Federal Constituency.
He also facilitated an eye advocacy, testing and treatment programme in December 2020 where thousands of beneficiaries were attended to by health professionals. Drugs and medicated glasses were also distributed in accordance with specific eye defects in the course of this programme.
In March 2021, Prince Olaide Akínrẹ̀mí Jagaban also facilitated a Techno-Entrepreneuship Training for the people of Ìbàdàn North Federal Constituency where hundreds of beneficiaries were trained in two different phases, first by the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), after which on completion, the second phase of training was conducted by the Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi (FIIRO). Beneficiaries were trained on standard and modern procedures of processing cassava tubers into Gaari, Fufu, Lafun, and even confectioneries like cake, meat pie, chinchin among others.
In July 2021 which is last month, a two days highly educative symposium on the effect of substance abuse on youth prospects in Nigeria, and the way forward was organized for young adults, with seasoned professionals tutoring and orientating the young ones on the subject. More than 2000 students from close to 80 schools in Ọ̀yọ́ state participated in this symposium with each of them getting writing and instructional materials.
As gathered by this newspaper, Prince Akínrẹ̀mí also ensured that aside from the educational materials for the participating students, all the schools that attended the two days symposium were given various beneficial educational and even health related materials, alongside transportation allowances too.
In all, these two new set of trainings facilitated by Prince Akínrẹ̀mí will be brought to a close with an empowerment programme on Friday, August 20 of this year, scheduled to take place at Emeritus Professor Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall opposite UCH Ìbàdàn, where starter packs and substantial amount of money will be given to hundreds of beneficiaries who will be participating in the training processes.
